Online Video Counseling

I offer HIPAA compliant online video therapy through Zoom.  If you do not have Zoom on your phone, computer or tablet you may download it for free from the APP store.
Steps for checking into your Online Video Session:

  1. Use the link that has been emailed or texted to you.
  2. Typically when you click on the link it will say you have been admitted to the waiting room or waiting for host to start the session.
  3. I am notified when you log in to the session and will start the session usually within 5 minute4s of our agreed upon time.
  4. Your computer may show a message asking to allow the program to access your microphone and camera. Click "Allow" if this appears.

Are You Ready For Online Therapy?

  1. Do you have a laptop, desktop PC or Mac which is 3 years old or newer?
Older devices may struggle to run the program properly.
  2. Is your space equipped with a modern internet connection that is reliable?
Connecting directly to your router using an Ethernet cable for wired internet is recommended though wireless networks can work fine as well. You can also try sitting closer to the router as well.
  3. Have you downloaded Chrome or Firefox to your computer to use as your internet browser?
For all devices, we recommend using Chrome or Firefox. However, those of you on an iPhone or iPad can use Safari, as long as the most recent iOS update has been installed. Browsers such as Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge are unsupported and may encounter compatibility issues with the video software as those browsers are not as up to date with modern code.
  4. Do you have access to a working webcam?
Most modern laptops have built in webcams which will work great for online therapy! If you have a desktop PC or Mac you may need to purchase and set up an external webcam.
  5. Are you comfortable navigating computer software?
The online virtual therapy is easy to navigate and does not require any training to use. However, those who find computers to be confusing or frustrating may need assistance. If you are unfamiliar with using video chat type programs it may be helpful to practice with a friend or relative before our session.

For those who are unable to use Zoom and have a Mac iPhone, iPad or computer, Face Time is an option however it is not as secure as Zoom.
